1. Can I add Software/Hardware to my computer or the school network?

It is always best to email or call the Tech Department if you have any questions. Adding software to your computer without making sure it is compatible with your system could cause your computer not to function correctly. Adding computers or other devices to our school network can cause network failures or viruses that will affect the whole district. 2. How do I access my email online?

You can always access your email online like any other email service e.g. yahoo.com, as long as you haven't opened Entourage on your computer because that is a software program that pulls the email from the server to your computer just like Outlook Express, or Mail. You can set your email software to leave a copy on the server but be sure to set it to delete from the server after so many days or be sure to delete your email when logged into your mail online or you will clutter up your inbox. You can access your email from anywhere online with the address mail.usd379.org. Log in using your username and password.

3. How do I force an application to Quit?

You may need to Force Quit a Program. Command-Option-Esc (similar to the WINDOWS Ctrl-Alt-Del)

4. I don't have a wireless connection, what do I do?

Click on the Airport icon and see what networks are available. When you see the network name you want to connect to, in this case it is USD379CC for our district, choose that network. Enter the password for that network(available from the Tech Team or the secretary in your building). First...

5. What do I do if my computer froze?

Use command+control+start or command+control+eject to force your computer to restart. To shut down hold down command+option+control+eject or hold down the start key for approx. 5 sec.
