Kansas Representative Lewis "Bill" Bloom took time out of his busy schedule to visit students and staff at Garfield Elementary on Friday, Feb. 21 as part of the "Principal For A Day" program.
The Kansas Principals Association sponsors the program, which provides opportunities for principals and other administrators to build and refine relationships with their State legislators. Participation in this program involves state legislators visiting schools in their legislative district, interacting with staff and students, and performing selected administrative tasks during their visit.
Mr. Bloom visited classrooms, met with principal Stefanie Lane and superintendent Brett Nelson, and interacted with students throughout the morning. We were thankful for his visit and his support of public education not only in Clay County, but across Kansas!
