Clay Center Elks Scholarship

Clay Center Chapter #180 OES Scholarship
This scholarship is only available to 2024 seniors attending USD 379 Clay County. The application can be found here. Due April 1, 2024.

Bluestem Electric Cooperative will again be awarding 10 scholarships to students whose parents/guardians are Bluestem consumer-members.  Six (6) $1,000 scholarships and four (4) $750 scholarships.

Tips for a successful application:

1.     Download the Neighbors Serving Neighbors booklet prior to beginning the application.  (You'll be tested on it.)

2.     Have two (2) reference letters saved and ready for upload prior to beginning the application.  (One from someone within your school and one from someone outside your school.)

3.     Do your best on the Neighbors Serving Neighbors test.  It is graded and getting more than one or two questions wrong can potentially eliminate you from consideration.

BigFuture Scholarships for c/o 2024 and 2025 (Starting December 2022)
Students can now qualify for BigFuture Scholarships as early as 10th grade. Beginning this December, all sophomores and juniors in the classes of 2024 and 2025 can earn chances at scholarships by taking steps on BigFuture to explore careers, plan for college and pay for college. Students who complete one or more steps on their BigFuture dashboard, beginning with starting a career list and building their college list, will be entered into one monthly drawing for $40,000 scholarships and another for $500 scholarships. At least half of the scholarships will be awarded to students whose families earn less than $60,000 per year.

 Students can access BigFuture to begin exploring scholarships and other resources available within the platform.

Foundation for Rural Service Scholarship

Foundation for Rural Service Scholarship Application: Deadline is February 8, 2023.

For graduates who are planning to attend a Kansas four-year university, community college, or technical school.

O'Brate Foundation Dual-Credit Scholarships
This foundation provides scholarships for students with limited financial means to be able to take college courses while in high school. Application information can be found here.

9th Annual Kansas Financial Scholars Essay Contest
Up to 5 scholarships offered to students who plan to continue their education in Kansas (1st place -- $3000, 2nd place -- $2500, 3rd place -- $2000, 4th place -- $1500, 5th place --$1000. For application and materials, go to KansasFinancialScholars.com. Applications are due April 3.

API Scholarship
The Western Kansas Chapter of the American Petroleum Institute (API) will once again be awarding four scholarships to qualifying graduating Seniors in May 2023. Each scholarship will be in the amount of $1,000 annually ($500 paid each semester) and may be renewed for up to four years.  Students may download the application on their website www.westernkansasapi.org. NCK Crop Solutions Young Students In Agriculture Scholarship
Requirements: Must be a high school senior graduating in spring of 2023. • Enrolled in a 2-year Community College or 4 year Institution immediately following High School graduation. • Demonstrate leadership characteristics and strong academic performance. • Be active in FFA and Agricultural Courses throughout High School. • Plan to Major in an Agriculture related field in college (Agronomy Preference). • Obtain a high school GPA of 3.0 or higher.
