Happy Holidays From USD 379!

USD 379 Intervention teachers have gone through extensive reading intervention training from The Phillips Fundamental Learning Center. This includes Mrs. Coupal, Mrs. Fox, Mr. Liby, and Mrs. Swihart at Lincoln and Mrs. Galindo at Garfield. This group has excelled so much with the new curriculum that the Fundamental Learning Center decided to come to Clay Center and film a documentary about everything they are doing to help our kids succeed! It is a powerful video, and we hope you take a few minutes to watch!

Happy Thanksgiving from USD 379!

Each quarter we create a video for staff, parents, and community members who have signed up to be a USD 379 Academic Ambassador. These videos highlight different academic curriculums used in the district and how they impact our kids. (go to usd379.org/academics to sign up)
We decided to share the latest video with the general public. It dives into the district’s 5-year plan to improve reading scores, which is taking place across all grade levels. We wanted to showcase the hard work and dedication ALL staff have put into making sure our students have the best ELA education in the state of Kansas!

On National Substitute Appreciation Day, we celebrate and say THANK YOU to our dedicated substitute educators!

Yesterday, USD 379 was visited by 2023-24 Kansas Teacher of the Year nominees from around the state. The host was Mrs. Flegler, who was the USD 379 secondary teacher of the year last year. One of the benefits of the recognition is that teachers get to visit other schools to see what they are doing to help students succeed. These teachers spent the day touring schools in Clay Center and visiting with our staff and students. They left very impressed by USD 379!
