We’re excited to share this amazing opportunity coming from our CCCMS YLINK group — Creativity Club! 🐾
Starting today, September 16, Creativity Club will meet once a month after school and give our Bengals a chance to connect, create, and have a little fun with all things creative — drawing, music, writing, crafts, and whatever creative ideas they bring with them! 🎶✏️🖌️✂️
Here are the details:

⏰ 3:20–4:20 p.m.
🍿 Snacks & drinks: Provided by YLINK

Come ready to smile, Bengals! 🐾📸🧡🖤

Today we are putting the spotlight on a team that knows a thing or two about grit, perseverance, teamwork, and pushing through when your legs are screaming, “WHAT ARE WE DOING?!” 😂
🏃♀️🏃♂️ OUR BENGAL CROSS COUNTRY TEAM! 🏃♂️🏃♀️
Cross Country is NOT an easy sport. It’s hills. It’s heat. It’s grass, dirt, mud, uneven terrain, long miles, tired legs, heavy breathing, and that final stretch where you have to dig DEEP and find just a little more. There are no timeouts. No substitutions. No hiding. Just you, the course, your teammates, and the finish line. 💪
And THAT is exactly why this group deserves today’s Bengal Strong Habits in Action Spotlight! ⭐
These Bengals show up, put in the miles, attack the course, encourage one another, and keep pushing when the going gets tough. They understand that every workout, every hill, every long run, every finish, and every hard-earned second adds up.
A HUGE shoutout to coaches Mrs. Kara Bergsten and Mr. Seth Higgins for leading this hardworking crew and helping them build the strength, endurance, confidence, and competitive spirit it takes to tackle one of the toughest sports out there! 👏🧡🖤
🏁 AND TODAY, THEY’RE RACING AT HOME! 🏁
📍 Come out and cheer on your Bengals at their home Cross Country meet!
⏰ First race starts at 9:45 AM!
Bring your cheering voice, find a good spot along the course, and get ready to see these Bengals run the hills, chase down the finish line, leave it all on the course, and show what BENGAL STRONG looks like! 🐅🔥
Let’s pack the course and cheer them through every mile!
RUN BENGALS RUN! 🧡🖤🏃♀️🏃♂️🏁

🏐🧡🖤 BENGAL STRONG HABITS IN ACTION! 🖤🧡🏐
Today, our Bengal Strong Habits in Action Spotlight is shining bright on our 7th Grade Volleyball team! 🌟🏐
This team is showing us what happens when TEAMWORK takes the court! They are serving up confidence, setting each other up for success, digging deep for every ball, attacking with purpose, and bringing the energy point after point! 💥
These Lady Bengals know volleyball is more than just getting the ball over the net—it’s about communication, trust, encouragement, hustle, and having each other’s backs. From the first serve to the final whistle, they are working together, celebrating each other, and fighting for every point. 🙌
And if you want to see this hardworking team in action, you have plenty of opportunities this week! 👀🏐
🔥 TODAY: The B/C teams take the court at HOME in the District Gym against Axtell and Rock Creek!
🔥 TOMORROW: They hit the road to take on Washburn Rural North and Anthony at Anthony.
😴 WEDNESDAY: A well-earned day off!
🔥 THURSDAY: Back on the courts in Marysville!
🔥 SATURDAY: The B/C teams wrap up a busy week with a morning of volleyball in Wamego!
That is a LOT of volleyball—and a whole lot of opportunities to serve, set, dig, hustle, compete, and grow together! 💪🏐
A busy week is a GREAT week to spotlight this hard-working group of 7th Grade Lady Bengals! 🧡🖤 They are putting their Bengal Strong habits into action every time they step on the court, and we couldn't be prouder of the way they continue to support one another and play as a TEAM!
Keep bringing the energy, ladies! The court is yours! 🔥🏐🐾

🏐 Our volleyball girls may want to start packing a suitcase because they’re going to be seeing A LOT of the court this week! 😂

Friday’s Homecoming Parade kicks off at 2:30 p.m. We are hoping to bus students downtown to attend the parade. If plans change, we’ll keep families updated.
Parents are also welcome to pick up their students to attend the parade. If your student rides the school bus downtown, they may not leave with a parent unless the school has been notified PRIOR to the parade.

First, they modeled how remote sensing techniques help discover natural resources and extend our ability to measure, explore, and identify structures underground. Then they analyzed the data they collected, which provided evidence that resources are distributed unevenly on Earth.
In the following lab, 6th graders used acid to extract copper from malachite and examined the wastes produced by this process. #Celebrate379

If you’ve ever wondered who is responsible for teaching our Bengals how to read between the lines, write something that actually makes sense, argue a point with evidence, and—most importantly—properly use a comma… look no further! 😂
Our ELA teachers do A LOT more than teach English Language Arts. They help students find their voice, discover stories they love, put their thoughts into words, and become stronger readers, writers, thinkers, and communicators. 📝📖
And let's be honest… ELA teachers have a special kind of superpower. They can spot a run-on sentence from across the room, somehow know when you definitely did not read the chapter, and will never stop reminding you that “because I said so” is not sufficient evidence. 😂
We are incredibly lucky to have THREE amazing ELA teachers leading our Bengals! 🧡🖤 They bring their own personalities, passions, creativity, and plenty of patience to the classroom every single day—and our students are better because of them!
So today, we're giving a BIG Bengal shoutout to our ELA Teacher Dream Team! 👏📚
Below is a little look into their world! So you can get to know the people behind the books, essays, grammar lessons, and the “Did you actually read the book?” 👀📖
Mrs. Koster has been teaching 6th grade ELA at CCCMS since 2020. She has a total of 14 years in education. She lives in Clay Center with her husband and 2 children. Mrs. Koster enjoys reading, watching TV, spending time outdoors, and spending time with her family.
Mr. Austin Last is in his third year at CCCMS, and he is proud to be part of this community. He has lived in Clay Center since 5th grade, so this place truly feels like home. Before he found his calling in the classroom, he lived a fast-paced life as a chef, working in several restaurants—including helping to open 15-24 Brewhouse, which was an unforgettable experience. When he is not teaching, you’ll usually find him diving into a good book, experimenting in the kitchen, or on the football field—either watching the game or coaching from the sidelines. Cooking and football fuel his passion, but nothing matters more to him than his family. They’re the heart of everything he does.
Ms. Smith is a first-year teacher at CCCMS. She has been working in schools since 2022, but this is her first year as a teacher. In her free time, Ms. Smith enjoys hobbies like painting, photography, baking, cooking, and other creative outlets. Ms. Smith also likes to travel and has spent time tutoring English language learners in Chad and running summer programs at a community center in Turkey. Her favorite part about teaching is building relationships with the students and watching them grow!
We love our ELA teachers and appreciate everything they do for our students, our school, and our community!

The 8th Grade Bengal Football team is off to a great start, and if their first game was any indication, this group is going to be FUN to watch! 🔥
Their season opener against Abilene was a nail-biter, with the Bengals having a chance to pull out the win in the final few plays. While they came up just short, they showed something that matters even more than the scoreboard—they play together. 💪
Coach Roberts shared that this team is constantly building each other up, playing with a positive attitude, and understanding that everyone has a part to play in the success of the team. That's what Bengal Strong looks like! 🧡🖤
And they're not doing it alone! Leading the Bengals this season are Coach Roberts, Coach Last, Coach Pigorsch, and Coach Beardsley!
🔥 NOW IT'S TIME TO BRING THAT ENERGY HOME! 🔥
