This week's Bengal Spotlight Featured Department is our Social Studies department! We are fortunate at CCCMS to have three of the best Social Studies teachers! Patrick Taylor is in his third year at CCCMS and teaching. He grew up in Manhattan and went to K-State. So far, he has enjoyed teaching and it has been very rewarding for him. History has been his favorite subject for as long as he can remember! Halle McClure is also in her third year teaching social studies at CCCMS and teaching. She grew up in Lindsborg, Kansas, and went to Bethany College. She loves the Clay Center community, and has enjoyed coaching middle school volleyball for the last few years! She loves traveling, reading, and spending time with her family and friends. JD Lane is in year 34 of teaching middle school Social Studies, with 25 of those being at McKinley/CCCMS. He enjoys reading, watercolor painting, golf, spending time with family, and traveling. He also coaches football and track at CCCHS. This is definitely a quote these three amazing teachers teach by! “The function of education is to teach one to think intensively and to think critically. Intelligence plus character – that is the goal of true education.” – Martin Luther King Jr. Thanks for all you do for the students and for CCCMS!

Today's Bengal Spotlight Featured PAWS class is Mr. Kellys PAWS! Websters dictionary defines “eclectic” as: "composed of elements drawn from various sources”. We definitely have an eclectic PAWS class, and it’s the best! It’s like Mr. Kelly’s personal Breakfast Club. We’ve got so many different personalities and they all have so much to contribute! They’re usually pretty chill, but when the PAWS challenges come, that can change quickly. Mr. Kelly is proud of his class and the way they have come together this year! They are also extremely creative hope you enjoy their "mug" shot!

(Pretend it is Last Friday😉) Today's PAWS Spotlight Featured PAWS is Mr. Rickley's class! The PAWS time given each morning allows students to get organized for their day, engage in a weekly Social-Emotional Learning Lesson, check their grades and academic progress, and have some fun each day! As you can see sometimes Mr. Rickley has a tad more fun than the rest of the class 😂
