Our "Like a Champion" Call of the Day goes to Adam Showalter! Adam has been exemplifying Habit 6: Synergize! He generously donated some markers from home so that his art classmates could benefit from them. Additionally, when he noticed a drawing pencil from the art room in a different classroom, he took the initiative to return it right away. Thank you, Adam, for your kindness and for looking out for others!
What's Happening
The 7th graders enrolled in Tech Time, which is a 3D Printing class, designed and printed toys for the Lighthouse. They were delivered yesterday. Toys included articulated dragons, sharks and balloon dogs, cars, tanks, helicopters, and planes.
The CCCHS Singing Christmas Tree performance is in its 69th year of existence. One of the best traditions involved with the performance is having the Lincoln, Garfield, and CCCMS students come to watch them perform on Friday morning. Besides giving the CCCHS choirs a chance to practice before the actual event (Sunday, Dec. 15 2 pm), it also shows the younger generation of students what they could be a part of if they want to sing in high school. As always, it is a wonderful show!

Our Bengal Spotlight this week highlights Mr. Rickley's PAWS class! As Mr. Rickley himself puts it, "No captions are really needed." It's evident that his PAWS class is made up of an exceptional group of students who admire and follow their enthusiastic leader. They approach PAWS challenges with a relaxed attitude and a sense of calm, proving that they are truly remarkable students.
This morning, our "Like a Champion" Call of the Day goes to Sophie Michaud! At the start of math class, the students were enjoying a group game, but one student was without a team. Sophie kindly invited him to join her table and play with her group. Great job, Sophie!
Mrs. McDonald is ending her Family and Consumer Science sewing unit by allowing her 8th graders the opportunity to make a final project. What they make and the fabric they use is totally up to them. They will finish up these projects next week. Real-world education at its best!
Everyone is racing to finish units before the end of the semester, and that includes Mrs. Pfizenmaier's 7th grade math classes. They were completing a review on ratios with fractions and proportional relationships. These reviews will help them study for the upcoming test next week that will be squeezed in before they leave for break.
After reading a science fiction book about Mars in Mr. Last's 7th grade ELA classes, students created their own podcast that discussed their "journey" to Mars. They had to write their own script and make their own recording using their 1:1 laptops. These podcasts will then be shared with the rest of the class before the end of the semester.
We want to give a big shout-out to today's "Like a Champion" Call of the Day: Naomi Mallard! During 6th hour, Naomi took the initiative to assist several students with their assignments. She played a key role in keeping them motivated and focused. What’s truly remarkable is that she did this voluntarily, motivated by her desire to help her peers succeed. Great job, Naomi! Keep up the fantastic work!
This morning, a vehicle transporting USD 379 students on a college visit was in an accident. Thankfully, no serious injuries were reported. Parents have been contacted, and plans are in place to bring everyone home safely.
We are excited to acknowledge our "Like a Champion" Call of the Day, Landon Carrier! During 6th hour, Landon focused diligently on his math assignments. After completing his work, he took the initiative to assist a fellow student. Thanks to his support, this student stayed on track and finished the lesson successfully. Great job demonstrating your seven habits, Landon!

Mr. Walsh's 6th grade science students attempted to control erosion around a river and protect homes through three different "storms" starting with light rain, then a typical rainstorm, and finally severe storm. This was part of engineering in science (criteria & constraints) in the Land, Water and Human Interactions Unit.
This week, we are proud to honor Suzanne Ahlberg as our "Like a Champion" Pillar of Leadership employee! Suzanne consistently takes the initiative to address student needs. She is dedicated to helping students improve, whether through individual instruction or group settings, always striving for mutually beneficial outcomes. In addition, she makes herself readily available to assist both staff and students in a timely manner. Suzanne embodies positivity and demonstrates this in her daily interactions. She never hesitates to step in and support the secretaries by answering the phone whenever they require assistance. Thanks for being such an amazing nurse and coworker Suzanne!
