With Clay County USD 379’s districtwide expansion of the Leader in Me student program last school year, Clay Counts Coalition has announced a free, one-day community training on the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, the foundation of Leader in Me4 . The session is scheduled for July 27 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Clay County Community High School library.  The training will provide attendees with a framework for personal and professional leadership while teaching leadership skills, relationship-building, strategies for fostering a positive school and community culture, and self-empowerment.  According to the release, the 7 Habits program is used in more than 75% of Fortune 500 companies.  Community members can contact Lisa Last, and new teachers can contact Jaclyn Pfizenmaier, both with USD 379, for more information or to RSVP.
CCCHS graduate Alessia Carrales  selected as a finalist for the 2026 William Woods Tate, Jr., National Student of the Year Award. From more than 140,000 NSDA members, only six students are selected as finalists for this award.
