CCCHS and Wakefield senior intern students spent their last day of summer in the classroom learning about their upcoming year-long interning process. Work-Based Learning Director Nichole Weller and the high school counselors have set up 34 seniors to spend part of their day interning at a local business or organization. We are thankful to have so many options in our community for our kids to learn and grow into quality employees! #celebrate379

Breakfast and lunch menus are now online! There are two ways to view them from the USD 379 homepage (see arrows), and you can also access them from the USD 379 app. Nutrislice is once again our food service program. If you have questions, please contact Dining Services Director Joy Lund at fs.joylund@usd379.org. #celebrate379

Welcome, Mr. Wildeman! #celebrate379

Welcome, Mrs. Schooley! #celebrate379

If you call in to the CCCHS office, you might hear a new voice. Micah Richter just started as a new secretary. She will work alongside Jenell Jones. Welcome to CCCHS and USD 379! #celebrate379

The CCCHS music and drama staff spent yesterday installing and learning about their new lighting equipment in the Martyn Snodgrass Auditorium. This new equipment means more color and vibrance options, an updated control board, and new LED lighting means cooler temps. The performers will no longer be sweating on the stage! #celebrate379

Welcome, Mr. Higgins! #celebrate379

For the past two days, USD 379 teachers, paras, aides, secretaries, and custodians have been involved in the district-wide implementation of The Leader in Me, a whole-school transformation process developed by FranklinCovey Education.
The program has been used at 379 schools in the past, but it has never been a full district initiative until now. It focuses on teaching social-emotional and leadership skills, including communication, goal setting, problem-solving, and conflict resolution. This program has shown the ability to:
1. Increase Student Leadership & Academic Performance: Studies show that Leader in Me schools show increased student leadership and academic performance, including significant gains in subjects like ELA and math.
2. Improve School Culture: The program promotes a positive school environment by emphasizing respect, collaboration, and student voice, leading to higher teacher satisfaction, fewer discipline incidents, and better student attendance.
3. Empower Educators & Families: Leader in Me also equips educators with transformational leadership skills and provides resources to involve families in their children's learning.
379 families will see much more information in the coming months with this program. We are excited to see how it helps our students, staff, and schools! #celebrate379

If you are a parent of students in multiple buildings, you know how difficult it can be to keep up with every event, especially during this time of the year! Here is a one-page document that will help you remember everything happening from now until the first day of school! #celebrate379

Did you know that CCCHS had the highest FAFSA completion rate in 4A last year? This is due to the hard work of counselors, students, and parents. Thank you for your support in helping our kids succeed! #celebrate379

Do you think you might qualify for free or reduced breakfast and lunches, but don't plan on your child utilizing that option? We still encourage you to apply! You would be helping ALL kids by doing so! #celebrate379

The enrollment window is open! #celebrate379

Mrs. Affolter’s Teaching as a Career class has been teaching Ms. Christa's preschool kids about gravity, push/pull, ramps, measuring and more this week. It's another great example of how our older students are mentors to those just beginning their educational journey! #celebrate379

BIG NEWS!
The National Speech and Debate Association has awarded Alessia Carrales the coveted Academic All-American award! This award recognizes academic rigor, competitive speech and debate success, and personal excellence. Of the more than 141,000 student members of the association, fewer than 1% of students in speech and debate across America receive the award each year.
Congratulations, Alessia! Well deserved! #celebrate379
