Yesterday, Mr Roberts' Chemistry students discussed the Periodic table and trends that happen as you move across the table. To help visualize this concept, students blew up balloons to represent the sizes of each element as they moved across the periodic table. #celebrate379

Mr. Wildeman is the new Biology/A&P teacher at CCCHS and has been doing a great job! Today, his Biology students were working on building cell models to
be able to describe the different organelles and their functions inside these cells. Students started with research and then began creating their masterpieces! #celebrate379

Mrs. Affolter’s freshman Earth Science students are reaching for the stars—literally! Using the Hertzsprung-Russell Diagram, they discovered how color, temperature, and luminosity can reveal a star’s secrets, like mass and density. 🌟

They even spotted outliers that show how a star changes dramatically over its lifetime. 🚀🔭

Instead of sleeping in on their day off, CCCHS and Wakefield YLinK members dedicated themselves to Bandana Squad training and learning more about Signs of Suicide with Behavioral Health School Liaison Ericka Lysell. They also watched the powerful documentary "Don't Look Away", which will be shown at the Rex Theatre on Tuesday, Oct. 21.

Today in Mrs. Ware’s Calculus class, students tackled the world of derivatives.

From finding the slope of a curve 📈 to understanding how fast something is moving at an exact moment, Mrs. Ware had students exploring how math explains the world around us.

History/Government teacher Tyler Nelson entered his 40th year at USD 379 this year! He is always a wealth of knowledge when it comes to United States history. Today, he lectured on the Major Compromises that had to be made as part of the Constitution. #celebrate379
