Every year at LES, students are invited to write an essay on who they feel is the "Kindest Clay Center Citizen". Some were chosen to read their essays at a Rise & Shine assembly in March.
Senior Anthony Davies wasn't 18 yet, so he didn't qualify as a recipient. But that didn't stop two students from nominating him, including Bronson! LES counselor Ms. Coughlin invited Anthony for lunch and the essays were read to Anthony. It is a great example of how our oldest learners are such a great example to our youngest learners in USD 379! #celebrate379

It was a BIG weekend for senior Savemore Nyamakope. Besides qualifying for the National Speech and Debate National competition,
she also was selected as the West Kansas Student of the Year. It’s a HUGE honor, as she will now go on to be considered for more honors at the national level.
Each NSDA District in Kansas has the opportunity to name a District Student of the Year. Coaches may nominate a graduating senior who best represents the tenets of the Association’s Code of Honor: humility, equity, integrity, respect, leadership, and service.
Each year, the top students who win the district award are selected as finalists for the William Woods Tate, Jr., National Student of the Year award. Finalists interview with an esteemed panel, and the National Student of the Year is announced during the National Awards Assembly.

It's getting to be that time! The class of 2025 took their senior class photo today after receiving their cap and gown. #celebrate379
Congratulations to these three seniors for earning their Commercial Driver's License (CDL) through the Kansas CTE waiver program. They were required to complete an online class and then have been taking the driving portion of the test in Beloit over the past two weeks. They now are street legal because of their hard work and dedication! If they are 18, students can get their CDL or a CNA certificate through the same program for a significantly lower cost. It's another way USD 379 helps prepare our students for life after high school! #celebrate379
