This week our Bengal Spotlight Featured PAWS is Mrs. Argo's class! Mrs. Argo's PAWS students are a wonderful bunch that is quietly competitive! We are always up for a challenge, especially dodgeball in the hall! We also enjoy less competitive games like beach ball volleyball in the entryway. We are proud of our mascot, Pablo the (stuffed) fish, who adorns our shelf with his brother and sister and is also painted on our wall. Watch for great things coming from the students of Mrs. Argo's PAWS Class this year!

This week our Bengal Spotlight Featured Department is our Custodian staff! We could not run without them! They are the superheroes of the building. Below is just a little look into the lives of Jeremy and Michael! Thank you both for all you do!! Jeremy Lund has been wandering the halls of the middle school for 16 years. He enjoys exploring backroads in his classic Toyota pickup in his spare time. Michael Houchin started at CCCMS last spring and has been a great addition to the staff. He is a local graduate of CCCHS graduating in 2012.

7 Students participated in the Kansas Ecomeet last week at the Milford Nature Center. Eco-Meets are competitions that test high school students’ knowledge of Kansas’ wildlife and plants. Students are tested in four areas: a particular habitat, a focus group (of animals), an outdoor scavenger hunt (to assess identification skills), and a fun interpretive event. The middle school had two groups participate, Cambreigh Howell-Key, Lizzy VanAken, and Peirson Walli-Newmayer. The group of Josey Weller, Kinzee Charbonneau, Lara Hammond, and Jayda Marrs earned 2nd place in the Interpretive Event named, "Wheel of Wilderness" The Interpretive Event puts a team’s interpretive communication skills to the test. Students will assume the identity of native organisms to put on a 5-minute skit that conveys information to the audience about their plant or animal of choice. These students prepared for this contest last year as 7th graders in Mr. Sleichter's Exploring Ag and Natural Resources class and this year during 6th hour/study lab time.
