October is National Principals Month. Today we celebrate Mr. Hoffman, who has been the principal at CCCMS for the past 18 years!

National First Responders Day! Thank you all you are truly the definition of "Like a Champion"

Congratulations to our Pillar of Leadership Employee of the Week Jeremy Lund! Thanks for all you do for CCCMS Jeremy! "Like a Champion"

Our Bengal Spotlight Featured PAWS class this week is Mrs. Brownell's Class! Mrs. Brownell's class likes to refer to themselves as "Brownell's Baddies." They are involved in all kinds of shenanigans around the school in the mornings. They like to prank other PAWS, stack our chairs, and kick Mrs. Brownell out of the room.

Over the lunch hour today, YlinK members hosted a Lunch and Learn presentation on vaping prevention. Anyone could attend, and Mr. Brummet gave away prizes to the attendees.

Picture retakes are tomorrow...

Parents and Students, Fundraising items can be picked up today from 3:30-6 pm at CCCMS. Money is due Monday, October 28th.

Today our "Like a Champion" Call of the Day is Karaline Hammond! What she did will bring a smile to your face for sure! While on their way back from biking, a classmate needed her inhaler, but she did not have it with them. The classmate and Miss Roe were walking their bikes back to the school and without being prompted or asked, Karaline rode back to the school, grabbed the inhaler, and rode back to meet them. She put her classmate's needs before her own. Way to go above and beyond Karaline!! The 7 Habits shine bright through you!

Good Luck to all our Bengal Cross Country runners today at NCKL! "Like a Champion"

Reminder No School tomorrow Thursday, October 17th, or Friday, October 18th due to parent-teacher conferences. Hopefully, everyone has been contacted by your student's PAWS teacher, and you have a conference time that works best for your schedule. During conferences, we will be passing out 1st Quarter grade cards, and information for parents/guardians on how to access Schoology. You will have the opportunity to meet with all of your student's teachers during this time. The appointment times will hopefully help you get in/out, and avoid any long lines, or waiting time.

This week's featured Department at CCCMS is our Math Teaching Staff. We appreciate the efforts of our Math Department and are very fortunate to have such a great team! Below is a little bit more about each teacher:
Megan Griffiths is in her second year of teaching 6th-grade Math. She also coaches volleyball and track at the Middle School. She is married to Cane Griffiths, and they have five children who attend USD 379. When she is not at school, you will find her at her kids' various activities.
Courtney Pfizenmaier is in her seventh year at CCCMS after 15 years of experience as an elementary teacher, elementary administrator, and STEM Coach in Geary County USD 475. She lives on a farm in southwest Clay County with her husband, four kids, cows, two dogs, and many farm cats. Courtney enjoys watching her kiddos' extracurricular activities, reading, landscaping, and drinking Dr. Pepper.
Jay Sleichter teaches 8th grade Math. He and his wife Linda have 4 girls and 1 boy. In his free time, he is very active in helping his kids with 4H.
Thank you Math Teachers!

Good Luck to our 7th and 8th Grade Bengal Football teams on their season's final game! Come out to the MAC to support them! 7th grade starts at 4:30 8th grade follows.

We have our first "Like a Champion" Call of the Day! This year, we will recognize students who are actively living the Seven Habits. Our first student who was caught synergizing was Hunter Askew. Hunter took it upon himself on Friday to help Mrs. Siemers clean up the Bengal Library from one of the PAWS challenges. He jumped right in moving the couches back and picking up. Way to help Mrs. Siemers by remembering "Together is Better"!

We are beyond proud of our 8th Grade Lady Bengals and Coaches! 8th Grade Volleyball NCKL Champs! "Like a Champion"

Let's create a world where everyone feels safe to talk about their mental health struggles.
