A great day in JB Designs designing new Tiger, Bengals and Clay Center gear!

It’s a beautiful day for some outside time, and this sweet visitor hopped right in on color tag today at recess!

We took our learning of adding mixed numbers outside today with some chalk. We had tons of fun engaging in learning in a different way! #garfield379 #usd379

We appreciate our paras and aides today and every day! They are all an integral part of GES and we couldn’t do it without them. Thank you Sara Bulk, Alexis Clymore, Ann Hogan, Hannah Keller, Marilyn Roth and Jennifer Shivers!

It was a great day to be a Junior Bengal! We had our Poetry Slam at Happy Hippie! We had so much fun presenting to our parents, families and friends! Thank you to our classroom family of parents, Erin and her team and community for all of your support! #usd379 #Garfield379

Garfield’s poetry slam at Happy Hippie! #garfield379 #usd379

With 3 adults and 30 kids JB Designs stays pretty busy! Today was one of our most productive days with 7 projects heat printed! We could not do it without our Junior Bengal Assistants who help run the club, check designs, line up patterns and teach our kiddos new skills! #usd379

Garfield is thankful for the chance to attend an event held by the Clay County Arts Council! #garfield379 #usd379

In room 206, we were learning about perimeter this week! Check out this painter’s tape that is marked with 12 inch segments! Students had to solve perimeters created on tables, floors and desks around the room!

In room 206, we learned about Imagery in poetry this week! Students got to choose a #Hairbo Gummy bear, Sourpatch, starburst or #Hershey’s bar to feel, smell, look at, hear(the wrapper or chewing) all before tasting it! It ended up being a pretty “sweet” lesson!

So proud of this crew who wrote a speech, created and recorded a presentation for the February 14th #BOE meeting! These kiddos have done a ton of extra work recently advocating for our new club, supporting their peers and practicing their presentation! Way to go! #usd379

Revenge of the bully – 38 kids signed up for this book. Instead of giving half of them their second choice, Mrs. Lane said, “let’s move the classroom to the library and let them all hear the book that they want!” #PersonalizeLearning #VoiceAndChoice #Garfield379 #USD379

Our Junior Bengals Designers are making some incredible things in Innovators. We are spending time learning about profit, loss, supplies, design and intended audience! These kiddos are innovative, creative and hardworking! We can’t wait to see what they come up w/ next! #usd379

Just finished up our Native Nations project! Students worked on presentation skills like voice, eye contact, and pacing. They created finished products to share with their peers, including worksheets or note sheets to accompany their teaching! So proud of this crew! #usd379

Beyond proud of the students in JB Designs, our new Bengal Innovator! These students have focused on design, products and profits, and round table dialogue to synergize as a group! They work hard to make blue prints, computer designs, and press their own work!#usd379 #garfield379

Thank You to our Garfield students for their generous food drive donations (over 1200 items) to The Lighthouse! Congrats to Mrs. Wohler’s homeroom for donating the highest number with 417 items! #usd379 #garfield379
