Mrs. Ehlers' third grade class spent their ELA time researching a unique theater in the Czech Republic. They watched an informational video and then wrote down how the theater stage is different than the one they have in Wakefield. They loved the video so much that they asked to watch it twice!
Mrs. Butler's high school choir class was hard at work this morning preparing for their Winter Music Concert, which will take place on Monday, Dec. 16.
After Mrs. Bybee's Geometry students completed their homemade marble run using slope intercept equations, she had elementary students come in to judge the entries. The votes ended with a three way tie between Dino Egg Theft, Holly Jolly Angles, and Floral Walk. Love the creativity!
Mrs. Hughes' Culinary Essential class is in the middle of their Soups, Salads, and Sandwiches unit. Today, they were in the process of making homemade chicken noodle soup. They even made their own noodles!
Mr. Keim's 6th grade science students are putting the final touches on their presentations on the solar system. Each student chose and researched a different planet or moon. They could present using Google Slides, Canva, or by recording themselves on their laptops.

It is marble madness in Mrs. Bybee's geometry classroom! Students used slope intercept equations on their laptops to create a digital marble run. Then, they created the real thing on the walls of her classroom!

Last week, the kindergarten and first grade classes had special guests from the Wakefield Fire Department. They learned all about being community helpers, which ties into the Social Science curriculum and the reading modules in ELA. Thank you for making time to come see our kids!

Today was a big day at USD 379, as all staff took in Leader in Me training. "Year Zero" is for the adults, and "Year One" will be for the kids. It was a great day of self reflection!
